An unusual start to a Sunday morning; dawn broke, and while on any other winter morning I’d be snuggling under the quilts, here I was, on my way to discover the art district of Hyderabad.
Always been a fan of down_trodden‘s work (funny no one knows his real name), and when he announced this meet, I was all game to attend it.
The StreetMeetHyderabad, first of its kind, was the epitome of what goes down when a bunch of bloggers and shutterbugs get together at an art district! Although the location has been an attraction ever since it’s inception, this was my first ever visit and I knew instantaneously why it was an obvious choice for a Street Meet. As we walked around the art donned walls, we were met with playful stares from the locals.
Bloggers were clad in their ‘street’ best, coalescing smoothly with the graffiti-filled walls and posing for the shutter bugs attempting to create aesthetic content for their socials. I have been to Instagram meets earlier, and unlike other meets this one was high on energy owing to all the color and art around us.The locals although gawking at us, were engrossed in their own world as this a common site for them (frequent visits from photographers). As we passed by, we saw women drying out their clothes in their verandas blocking our view of the art on the walls of their homes. But heart of hearts, they were beaming with pride knowing that their locality is of course an attraction for many.
The StreetMeetHyderabad made up for the long overdue official world wide Instameet that couldn’t happen this year for some reasons.
StreetMeetHyderabad was featured in the November 12th edition of the Hyderabad Times. Read here:
What better outfit than a pair of denims and a solid T-shirt for a street meet?
I have been wanting to own a T-shirt in olive green, but my struggle knew an end only in the Men’s section. I picked up the smallest size possible and I think it did a fairly good job. Accessorized the look with a choker and a couple of dainty chains, one of which just slid under my T-shirt and I kept thinking I lost it the whole while.
The talented down_trodden also documented the walk in all its glory to create this stunning video!
